Team Objective

The Design Team establishes the user experience (UX) and interface foundation for the Onlife app—the first application built on the Onlife network. Their mission is to design a generic, resilient "Operating System" for crisis situations, empowering citizens and organizations to deploy their own tools. This team creates the blueprints that the Developer Team will later build, ensuring the app is intuitive, accessible, and effective under extreme stress.

Why: The Design Team is the human-centered conscience of Smartup Zero's technical development.

As outlined in the Design Blueprint, this team is responsible for translating complex technical capabilities (the Onlife protocol) into simple, usable, and trustworthy experiences for citizens in crisis. Their work answers the critical question: "Will people actually be able to use this when their lives depend on it?"

Without a functioning Design Team:

  • The Onlife app will be unusable. No amount of sophisticated networking matters if the interface is confusing under stress.
  • The Smartup model lacks human validation. We would be building technology for ourselves, not for the communities we aim to serve.
  • We cannot attract partners. NGOs, governments, and other organizations need to see a clear, well-designed platform they can build upon.
  • The MVP will fail. First responders and citizens need to accomplish critical tasks (sending an SOS, coordinating aid) in seconds, not minutes.

This objective ensures the Onlife platform is not just functional, but genuinely empowering and accessible to everyone.

How: The Execution Flow:

  1. Form the Team: Recruit and onboard the Captain (4_1_2), Platform UX Designer (4_1_2), Crisis Interaction Designer (4_2_2), and SDK/Partner Experience Designer (4_3_2).
  2. Understand the Problem: Study the crisis scenarios (e.g., earthquake scenario from the blueprint) and user needs.
  3. Design the Core Platform: Create wireframes and UI for the generic platform elements: Group discovery, the Stage (shared view), and the Hand (private cards).
  4. Design the MVP Pack: Design high-fidelity, validated interfaces for the essential SOS and Aid plugins and the Cards they produce.
  5. Create the SDK Guidelines: Define the design specifications and UI kit that future partners will use to build their own Plugins.
  6. Validate with Users: Test designs with potential users (citizens, first responders) and iterate based on feedback.
